Truth be told, beauty has never been my main focus—fashion and creating outfits have always been my passion. But over the years, my interest in beauty and skincare has definitely grown. Clean mascaras are generally formulated without many of the chemicals and preservatives found in traditional mascaras. That said, “clean beauty” isn’t strictly defined, so it’s important to check the ingredient list carefully! Over the past few weeks, I tested six different clean mascaras to find my personal favorite.
There are countless options out there, including cult-favorites like Ilia, but I focused only on mascaras with the brush style I prefer. For reference, I’ve tried both Ilia mascaras—one of them was great, but it didn’t make it into my current rotation.
